Listening to Louis Armstrong - Mack the Knife
Nico cycled all the way to my house yesterday. A distance of about 20km from where he stays. We spent the latter part of the afternoon trying to retrofit an 8 inch disc brake onto my bicycle. My fork just won't accept his disc brake because the adapter happens to be too thick. It jams the wheel and stops the wheel from spinning.
Nevertheless, I am so inspired as usual with cycling. It is probably my only sporting hobby. Then again, I'll need at least 2k to upgrade my bicycle. Have to change the disc brakes, the fork, the wheels, the rims, even the seat post. Nico's bicycle is retrofitted with XTR. A brake-gear shift system that costs 700 bucks.
When I was coming back today, I saw bunch of young punks with really really expensive and highly desirable freeride/downhill bicycles. Heart pain. I wish I had money enough to change my bicycle in its entirety. I prefer freeride bicycles, since in Singapore, there is not much room for downhill. Perhaps the rocky mountains in China.

I really hope I can get some cash to do all my dream modifications and alterations to my bicycle. Nico and I were trying to fix my squeaky rear disc brake, but was rather unsuccessful. It is so true. Shimano disc brakes just cannot make it.
Bumped into Mindy - the very pretty girl-next-door while road-testing my bicycle yesterday. Seeing her almost made me crash my bicycle. She had just concluded her A level exams and was coming home in her SAJC uniform. Given that I do have a uniform fetish. That plus her really nice legs made her look just so HOT. I wish she came to AC instead of going to SA. It would be a highly-distracting "honor" for me to go to school with her everyday.
Today, I had a tremendously boring and wasted day. Its called "in-service". It is supposed to be part of a continuous on-going learning initiative for the police to upgrade themselves. But it is anything but learning. Considering, I went to the base and for half the day there was no instructor around. It just feels horrible to see my off day waste away before my very eyes. Police administration is really rubbish. They organise a day of coursework with no instructor around.
I spent more time eating my morning tea, early lunch, late lunch, afternoon tea and an early dinner than actually learning anything useful today. I ate so much that I feel so terribly bloated. Have to cut down on my food intake and exercise more. Lest my weight balloon to 90kg before the end of next year.
Anyone knows where to buy these chinese antique copper bowls. The ones with two small handles at the sides. When the handles are rubbed at a certain freqency, water will spout forth from the bowls? I'd like to get one of those. Ancient Chinese engineering at its best.
