Listening to Jars of Clay - No One Loves Me Like You

Been feeling a little bit down today. Although a few incidents did perk me up.

I fell down the hatch to the engine room on the boat. All this, while starting up the boat before patrol. The ladder for the hatch opening was so slippery that even my safety boots could not provide sufficient grip. Even gripping the ladder tightly with my hands was of no use.

So I fell and landed badly. Now both my legs are injured. Have numb sensation in the part of the right leg where I landed and I have a dull to sharp pain in my left foot everytime I take a step. Then I hit my left hamstring rather hard as well, so there's a sharp pain running through it whenever I exert my leg. No cycling for me I guess.

Went to see the doctor and the doctor just basically told me that it would be harder to send me home than to the A & E. But nevertheless, I was quite relieved when he said that there was no fracture. I'm not really the sort for MCs, unless I'm really sick. Besides, I have a committment. I've got cellgroup and ministry at church tomorrow. I must go. Doesn't matter, what happens, I have to stay faithful.

Patrol was really busy last night. Quite alot of action, as compared with other normal days. At the end of patrol, my crew commander allowed me to steer the boat back to base. This is the first time I've done so on my own. So I'm really proud of myself for this "milestone achievement". In addition, I broke my speed record. The last time, my top crusing speed was around 28 knots. Today, I hit 38 knots. The boat handles very well at higher speeds. And its an exciting, adrenaline rush speed that I am in control of. Hope to do this more often.

The sad part was that I am up for sucky sentry duty on monday. And its a day shift! I don't like! Night shift is bad enough already, not to mention day shift. Sigh. But nevermind, I thank God that my injuries are rather minor.
