Listening to Point of Grace - He Sends His Love

Woo! I don't know what to make of the writing test! But I hope that the markers suck up whatever nonsense I put there. I feel that there's just not enough time for the writing test. Too short. Was rushing most of the time. But nevermind. Its over. Its all in God's hands now. I don't care at all. No worries. "Good" or "Bad" result doesn't matter. In all things just thank God.

As I walked into ACJC for my writing test today. I met up with no other than the junior class monitor - Ying Hui! She's so sweet! Apparently she came rather early for some "science thingy". Probably a remedial for physics I assume. Its so slack! She came in jeans and some survivor inspired AC T shirt. How slack! And it was raining, so the weather was rather good. Rainy days are of a great inspiration to many. I remember dashing across the track when it rained heavily from the school block to the sport complex just so we could skip L.O.H's physics lecture in LT5. Ah...somethings never change.

for mei

I got you a few shots of the school on the way out. I managed to get the rooftop garden photos as well. Enjoy!

deployment

I can't go to church tomorrow! I am SO UNHAPPY about it! They had to call me at around 1, to inform me to report for a day shift tomorrow! I'm supposed to work night shift but they PURPOSELY put me on day shift in spite of knowing that I have to go to church! STUPID POLICE FORCE! But I can't really do anything right? It really put alot of people in a tight spot. I've got to do ministry work tomorrow and now they're going to be short of manpower without me. In addition, its an overseas speaker for tomorrow's service. And I'm supposed to meet up with Shingles and my good friend Mark tonight just to catch up with old times. Looks like things will have to end prematurely! I am so incensed by their lousy planning! Out of 50 people, they have to get the one christian to do duty on sunday morning! Nonsense man!

Other people like to skip church, sleep through the service, "don't feel like going" or go to church to "see girls only". But that doesn't apply to me! I go to church because I really want to learn more - not to see girls! I really don't know what to say or to make of this, but I'm quite unhappy about it.

And my duty? Go to kusu island and stand there for 12 hours doing guard duty! Why waste 12 hours of my time on a wretched island when I can be in church right? Not to mention that its George's birthday tomorrow. I can't even WISH HIM! How nonsense right? Don't you agree with me?

Ok lar, better not gripe anymore. But I'm really unhappy that something that I've looked forward to for the whole week has to be cancelled, no less so suddenly!

"hope deferred maketh the heart sick..." - Pro 13:12.

How True indeed!

commentary about commentary

As for EN who put a nice long post in my comment box just before midnight last night. It brought up quite alot of interesting things to say. Things that I'd normally wouldn't even say, more likely to take for granted in life.

Well...here's my so called point by point response. Somehow, I love entertaining comments. I don't know why.

Oh, I believe fully in miracle healings! Nothing excites me more than seeing God at work! Well, Woodlands and Tampines is really far away from where I stay. Not just far, really far. But I'll make the journey if time and situations permit. Like if I'm off on that day and I if I'm not tied down with anything else. Given how things are at home now, I doubt it would be wise of me to leave the house for too long. It seems that most of the bickering happens when I'm out of the house. Sigh.

As for standing in proxy for mum in the service. No problem for me. Its just a simple act of love. Probably the least any son could do for his mum. But I'm not too sure really whether God will move for me in this area since things are quite complicated on the receiving side. I don't think my mum buys into any of this since she's a Roman Catholic and does not exactly like anything remotely protestant. The irony is that Dad is a methodist! And I'm a Pentecoastal. And my brother? I think he's an atheist professing to be a Christian - seriously, the way he lives his life.... I don't know what else to say. Sigh.

As for family. True true. My mei said the something on the same line to me as well. No doubt about me being in God's family. But really, the physical world representation of that family is really, honestly, quite a disaster. Its not easy to see things that way so simply in black and white from my current position in life right now. In future, I'm sure I will.

With regards to blessings. To me, its not really a big deal. Yes, money is very important and all the necessities are very important. For me, I'm not really so concerned with the blessing, I'm more concerned with the Blessor. Its really easy to get sucked into the blessing and totally forget about the blessor. I've seen it happen. And I've done it myself, what more can I say? I'd rather be a blessing to other people. Or that God may use me to bless others.

As for casting your cares on God. Its easy for that one. For changing character, its much much harder. I've gotta change my attitude in many areas first. And that's not easy given that THAT is something that God will not change for me. Wouldn't it be great if I could pray and say things like, "Oh God give me an attitude to studying hard" or "an attitude to love people more". It just doesn't work that way. If there's one thing God can change but will not change, its our attitudes. So for there, I'm lacking as well.

Life. Or Death? I've seen enough people my age die in my life already. Suicide is so common. Such an easy escape to the problems of this world. But I chose life. Because jesus is the Way the Truth and the LIFE.

I just managed to pick one one rather inspiring verse from the Bible:
"...but the LORD they God turned the curse into a blessing unto thee, because the LORD thy God loved thee." - Deut 23:5

I needn't say more. Pain, trials and tribulation only last for a season. A season, and that's about it.
