Listening to Frank Sinatra & Dean Martin - Ain't that a Kick in the Head?
The double expresso did wonders to keeping me up till 4a.m. And I could sleep. Perhaps, I should start to pack a little can of expresso into my patrol bag for night shifts. Then I'll be able to last all the way throughout the night. Ah... Its been a long time since I've drunk 6 shots of expresso at one go.
Many of people might not believe it, but it was actually a dare from one of my good Barker friends. He sponsered the $5.40 brew for which the Starbucks guy told me "No need to sleep tonight ah?". I just drank it at about 12 plus in the afternoon and feel asleep on a chair at home at 3p.m! Yea, we skipped school all for a dare. School officially ended at 2 on that day.
I'm not a person for stimulants or additives or all that nonsense. But ah, I have a weakness for English Tea. Chinese tea is just too bitter for me. I like to have tea brewed in a hot cup of water. No sugar, no milk, nothing else. James just told me today that I'm weird. Its so true. Even my drinking habits are out of place.
Sometimes I feel like a grave old man trapped in the body of a young boy who behaves foolishly. I'm too serious, too grave. I can't really relax or let my hair down (however little I have of it) and stuff. Even in AC, the only times that I was more relaxed and casual was when I was sitting with the guys in the void deck laughing to corny jokes as whilst enaging in girl-spotting activities. Even old men have a thing for young girls I tell you.
I have to cut my hair later. I believe in army its the standard "4 by 2" haircut. I'm just going to get a 12 dollar "5 by 4" haircut. The barber will love me. He'll only need to do so little work to collect so much money in comparison. One of the first gunners was telling me to go to his house to get him to cut my hair at 4 bucks. But no, I feel that Seng Kang is too far away. I'll just have to waste an hour queuing at the perpetually crowded barber at Holland V again. Their name is "One + 1". How true. One hour spent waiting and one hour taken cut your hair nicely.
Seriously, if I go overseas to study, I'm not cutting my hair for four years. From my photos link, you can get onto Boon Leong's page, then Wong Shi Ming's photo page. Shi Ming is the President's Scholar from RJC who is studying gahmen at Harvard University. You can check out Boon's hair in one of the group pictures. Boon's hair is seriously very long now in comparison to the length that he has been keeping for much too long a period of time in his life.
for mei
Ah, I realise that once again, I've been taking you for granted. You never fail to leave a comment post on almost every post I write that you read. Silly me. I've really been taking all the people in my life for granted too much. Perhaps that's why I have so few friends. Or perhaps I'm just so out of tune with everyone else. Or perhaps its both. Friendster made me think through all these issues rather carefully.
Mei, I'll always treasure your support and care as well as concern for me. I've been doing quite a crappy job for too long. Have to change as well as improve.
Mandy? Hahaha! Another girl "closely related" to my class, not just as a junior. But also an "interesting theory". *Laughter*. Without her, my class and CCA and about 1/5 the school would have one less thing to "trade stories" about during last year. She's really sweet. She's very sincere as well. Too bad, the "political games of girls" did cause quite abit of interference to her genuinely sweet and kind personality from what I knew last year.
The Dance Society is full of girls. Yea, full of bitchy girls that have itchy tongues just lying in wait for the kill. Can I recount a story? I had a very good friend in dance. He's like me, rather weird as wel as eccentric, and as like minds think alike, we are rather good friends. He went for dance as his CCA in J2. Did quite well until one day during practice.
He dropped the girl.
And he was finished. Which girl did he drop? Hmmm.. Her codename was "China Dancer". Figure it out. Won't be too hard for alot of people. To make it easier. She was from 2AA4. There. Guess in the comment box. Dance society may be a great place to meet girls. But may be a place where your reputation quite often gets sullied in haste. Mandy shouldn't have joined the dance society. I think perhaps NetBall? Or Tennis?
ACJC. Nonsense school. We gloat about "being in the top 5" when we're like 15th for value added. Woo!
class
I'm planning a class outing on 18th Oct. Hopefully I can get as many people as possible to come. From the looks of it, we're going to go to the spagheddies at the newly constructed Paragon Extension. Our food will have the nice smell of freshly dried paint as well as freshly cured cement. How pleasant it will be. The noxious fumes are known to induce highs in construction workers.
nonsense
As for Gabriel. my friend did have three drips in him simultaneously. All for a simple cold. One drip in the left elbow, one the right hand and one in the right forearm. Ouch. Painful. Another of my friends was telling me the medic was so incompetant that he had to be pricked 6 times before the drip would function. Real or on purpose? Perhaps all in the name of "innocent practice".
As for suffering from the monk/priest syndrom. The cloth isn't for me. Maybe I'll be a lighthouse keeper instead. Its a happier job since I don't have to deal with emotional wrecks everyday. Considering that I'm a person who lacks emotion and only feels very superficial and basic emotions. I probably won't be able to empathise with them in the first place.
The PWD (Purposely Want to Dig) are cutting and digging up the road outside my house now. The HOT SAJC neighbour can't study for her A's. Its so terribly noisy a disturbance in our quiet neighbourhood and I bet they'll Puposely Want to Delay (PWD) the completion date as well. You can bet on a delay 1-1 at William Hill and 2-1 at Singapore Pools.
As for studying in cafes, there's a very interesting article in today's LIFE. Wow. I can't believe that the CoffeeBean outlet manager for the airport outlet actually called in the Airport Police to get students studying to leave. How strange. We are a country that glories in academic achievement as well as studies. Yet we bar student's from studying at Changi Airport. Perhaps the gahmen doesn't want our students in national schools to become live tourist attractions based at one of the "world's best" airports. Imagine business tourists arriving at Changi during the month of October to see hordes of studious students giving them a "cold reception" by being buried in their books. And as though "educated students" would create "law and disorder problems". How much nonsense does gahmen PR staff spout anyway?
I remember last year, about slightly less than a year ago to be exact. Alot of AC people were at the Gloria Jean's outlet in Holland Village busy mugging for their A's. Of course, there are a couple of RJ & VJ girl (usually ex-MGS girs) to join the AC crowd as well. And one fine day the outlet manager just scolded everyone on the second level by saying that she "was running a business, not a library" and "can't you read the sign on the door? It says 'No Studying'! And all of you are students here, dont' tell me that you cannot read".
Amusing. She was scolding a bunch of very rich AC Boys as well.
Oh, I don't think the manager was a woman seriously. She looked totally like a guy along wtih neat army styled spikey hair. Perhaps a new transsexual, deprived of "job opportunities", "he" has no choice but to go along the "entrepreneuship model" and "open a business".
Now the outlet, supposedly branded the "most popular coffee joint in America" has closed down at Holland Village. Ah. AC Students do provide alot of business and it was her sad fault for chasing us all away. Perhaps we'll get one of the guys father whose in the F & B industry to buy down the entire Gloria Jeans franchise in Singapore. Then AC Students can have free reign to use it as their library! Its no problem, in fact, nothing at all, looking at how rich some of my friend's dads are.
Nevermind. I think Border's is suitable for use as an AC Library. Then Lido can be our LTs, Taka our Canteen and the rest of orchard road to be "the rest of the school". I've met enough people in ACS to realise that virtually the whole entire stretch of Orchard road is owned by ACS people! Unbelievable, but true.
Oh ya, as for the picture that accompanies the LIFE article. Notice the two AC girls there? One is codename "CSgurl". For China Scholar Girl. Oh, she's the girl in civilian sitting next to the AC Girl. Lots of stories about her as well.
