Listening to Kathy Trocolli - Stubborn Love
tribute
Ok, I chose to go to church instead of sending of Rev. Charles at the airport. I just gave him a call to bade him a goodbye that would most likely feel like forever. I feel like as though one of the pillar friends I had in ACJC has just been removed. Leaving me on yet unstable ground again.
Lots of my friends are going overseas to study. Ok, so most of the class remains in Singapore at NUS/NTU/SMU. But most of the true blue 12 year ACSians that I know of are leaving to study at various top universities in America and in England, although a smattering of a few are going to do Law, Mass Com, Medicine in Australia.
Well. When Charles comes back, I think he'll be like so different. To me, he's almost like a living example of John Wesley, the founder of methodism. Coincidentially, John Wesley was educated at Oxford on Scholarship as well! I'm sure Charles will grow so incredibly spiritual in the next 4 years. I will not be surprised to see him return as a Pastor or a Missionary.
The way he leads his life, really impacts people. Charles really changes the people he meets! I am very honoured to have known him as a brother in Christ, as a good friend, as well as my spiritual big brother. Without him and Aunty Ros, I can honestly say I would have crashed in my faith long ago last year.
Without Charles. I would continue to just be another backslider rotting in a church. Seriously, I only re-dedicated my life back to my King after the CF Camp, SPECIFICALLY after Charles prayed for me at the altar call. I wouldn't have helped the CF if not for him. I wouldn't have bothered about God in ACJC if not for him.
I remember times last year where Charles, Matt and I would just come together to pray before school, during recess and after school. Even after CF finished at like 7.30 on some days, we would stay in school to pray till 9.30 at night. Although we prayed for revival like crazy and it never happened, one thing is for sure that we did lay a little bit of foundations here and there for the next generation of CF leaders.
Considering that I'm quite a hard-hearted person, who doesn't feel emphathy for other people, who doesn't love other people. Under Charles leadership, guidance and prayers, he has really changed me from a bloody sinful backslider to be someone who sincerely desires more of God in my life. I'm not perfect for sure, but I can say that I really love God alot.
Thank You GOD, for a friend that has changed my life and turned me to You. And Thank You GOD, for Your Stubborn Love towards me.
church
Church was absolutely FANTASTIC! I'm glad that I actually followed Charle's direction to go to Church instead of send him off at the airport.
As this was more of an adult-oriented seminar, basically, the youth had to squeeze like crazy for the few available seats in Church. It was such a terribly tight squeeze that I could not even jump during Praise! What's praise without happy joyful jumping before the Lord? So yeah, Praise was no good today. Worship was much better and I enjoyed it.
Well, I've learnt alot in church today. And I enjoyed it tremendously! Tomorrow evening, I'm going to start queueing at the entrace of Chuch at 5.30. I'll make sure I'm FIRST in line so I won't have to squeeze anymore with the other youth attending the conference.
Other than that, my morning and half the afternoon will be burnt due to the In Service thing. Worst, because I forgot to bring the in service shirt back from the base, I'm meeting up with Rahmat, who has forgotten to bring home his patrol shoes at about 7.30 at the base to get our stuff. Then we'll head over to Tracom (POLICE ACADEMY) for our "We Idle Together Session" (WITS). I'll bring mum's digicam over since there'll definitely be a couple of pictures to take here and there with the other guys now based at the other bases.

K is for KING. I will honor and glorify my King. Not for KINKY lusts.
L is for LOVE. I chose to LOVE God (agape) and LOVE people (phileos). Not LOVE girls (eros).

T is for TIME. There is not much TIME left to do God's work. Not worth wasting on a girl.
U is for UNITED. I desire to be UNITED with Christ living in me. Not UNITED to a girl.
V is for VINE. Jesus is the true VINE. Apart from Him, I am VIRTUALLY nothing.
W is for WONDER. I will WONDER at the mercies of the Lord and not WONDER why no girl likes me.
