Listening to Joshua Kadison - Jessie

This is such a sad song! Yet such an honest idealistic eupheumisticism of precious like/love. Joshua Kadison is really good. He's like the male version of Vanessa Carlton minus the pop drum beats! Songs of longing and thinking and reflection and just plain honesty.

interesting day

I just fell asleep whilst praying last night. It was close to 1a.m I think. So tired! Then I couldn't wake up at all till Lena started knocking gently on my door. Its really weird when my alarm clock at full blast can't stir me, but a very soft knock on my room door can. So basically I rushed everything from packing my stuff and folding up the sleeves of my uniform and gobbling down breakfast in time to arrive at base at about 7.20.

Patrol was fun today. My crew commander was a monkeycrap jabroni man. He's like so funny, so full of jokes and just so friendly. The only time he's serious is when he's teaching me the steer the boat. Have to be serious mah, cos you don't want to get hit by a super tanker or something like that.

We ended up stopping over at Pulau Bukom to buy ICE CREAM. My crew commander was telling me, if I had video taped my NS life, in a boat, going down Jong Fairway, eating ice cream and joking to the army guys. He says their hearts are most apt to burst on the spot. I won't blame him, when I think about it, my NS life is even better than that of a clerk - who is prone to random spot checks. Out at the sea, no one can come spot check us! We spot check other people!

Apparently, my crew commander had gone to Devil's Bar yesterday to booze and watch girls in tight short skirts doing their bar top dancing, whilst he and hordes of males "scavenged" below. When I told him I got back from church at 1a.m for bible study, he thought that I was crazy and started asking me all kinds of stuff about the bible and religion.

I couldn't answer this question, "What do you call a guy, who believes in God, but doesn't believe in religion". When I think about it again. I think the answer should be, "A Christian!". Because its NOT a religion! Its a RELATIONSHIP! But nevertheless, we just dropped the topic quickly after we sensed that the other two guys onboard weren't happy discussing religion. What to do? I have a monkeycrap jabroni as my crew commander. And I'm just a demented guy who speaks without thinking.

Bible study at Church yesterday was great! Church was giving some "pre-order discount" of 18 bucks for those who ordered the tapes in advance. But too bad, I'm quite broke this month as ever. No thanks to the 50 I spent on the Fun-O-Rama Tickets. I'll go support my junior junior junior class next year, if there is one, that is. I love going to church. Although 90% my friends think I'm crazy to spend so much time (to them) there, but then see no great or impressive change in my character or behavior. Sad but true. I'm not good enough a Christian. YET. The Best is Yet to Be, right? On hindsight, that's really a slacker's motto.

My crew commander is a very nice person. He understood that I was half dead, so instead of being able to go down to the cabin and rest at 1p.m, normally. Both he and I ended up going down to rest at 11a.m! Then we woke up slightly after 3.15. Usually, I only get about 2, max 3 hours of rest on the boat for a day shift. So this is really a blessing in disguise. Thanks you God!

Then later, when I had awoken and had returned to the cabin to collect my spectacles. I found them crushed and mangled up! Somehow, I didn't panick. I just bent everything back to shape such that I could wear it comfortably for the rest of the patrol duty. I'm still wearing my formerly crushed spectacles brought back to life now as I type this, but I'm definitely going to buy a new set of frame tomorrow, because my lens kept popping out whilst on my tour of duty today. I've decided to get BLACK Titanium frames. Those small rectangular or oval shaped ones. Black is like the in color now, so no harm. Besides, I'm sick of silver/gold and my current blue.

I ate alot of food today. My crew commander gave me both his lunch and dinner and supplemented me diet with sandwiches, ice cream and other assorted nonsensical tidbits like peanuts and bubblegum. Since I've come to Coast Guard, I've put on almost 4.5 Kg. I weight 9.5kg heavier than I did last year at this time in ACJC. Trying to study in a FREAKING cold library does help you to lose weight after all. My BMI is an atrocious 25.6! I'm overweight! And to think not too long ago I was like "skinny", "thin" and "undernourished"! Worst, I still look THIN! Even though I'm theoretically OVERWEIGHT! Nonsense man! I think setting 23 as the idea BMI for asians is a bad move! Apparently, whole chunks of trainees in Tracom are over that weight! And the army will starve its recruits and tekan them more to help all the trainees "achieve the idea weight range".

Another gahmen body who ends up indirectly whacking disgruntled NSman again! Health Promotion Board is a nonsensical, farcical complete waste of time and gahmen money! Singaporeans LOVE to eat! So no point telling them to stave off Katong Laka, Hill Street Kway Chap, Margaret Drive Chicken Rice and Char Kway Teow!

As for that accountant who stole 117 Million bucks. I think he's so damn stupid! Steal so much money never un off to a non-extraditary country! Stupid FOOL! I don't understand why all these accountants who steal huge sums of money ends up staying in Singapore, waiting like sitting ducks to be arrested by the CPIB. Smart enough to steal huge sums, stupid enough not to run off!

I wonder how The Asia-Pacific Breweries Chairman feels about this. Hahaha, he too, is an old ACS Boy who sits on the Board of Governors for the ACS Schools.

Well, If I'm the evil person who stole 117 Million bucks, I'd convert it to gold and US as well as UK currency and stash themin a secret Swiss Bank Account and then run off to Peru, Lima, Chile or some Middle-Eastern Country that does not have an extraditionary treaty with Singapore. And then I'll be free and happy to live my existence! =P Such thoughts are despicable and should be condemned. Tsk. I think I still have a greed for money within my heart. No good. Have to change.

The ACJC Photos should be uploaded by tomorrow. Mum's crappy digital camera can apparently turn up some rather good shots as well. But I have to admit that the weather yesterday was very good, indeed.
