Listening to Final Fantasy VII Ending Theme (Orchestra Ver.)
Probably a huge number of people are celebrating the end of the A levels at Centro right now as I type this entry. But I honestly do not see the point of going to a club. Squeezing between people, paying rip-off prices for water soluble alcohol, getting half deaf with ringing in the ears and breathing in air thick with cigarette smoke?
Is that what the world calls "cool"? I think it is called "foolishness". All this, hidden under the pretext of "letting one's hair down" or "chilling out" or "relaxing". Perhaps differing tastes and preferences. But as far myopic as I am, it looks rather silly to me.
Despite being a True Blue ACSian, the one sub-culture that I have never picked up in school would be clubbing/pubbing/drinking and so on. No doubt I do go to the nearest club at Holland Village with Shingles and Mark - but only so reluctantly, insisting on leaving as soon as possible and prefering to talk things over a hot bowl of porridge at Crystal Jade. 11 dollars for a drink? It makes the 7 dollar bowl of porridge at CJ look cheap relativistically.
I do not fancy the clubbing culture of "dancing with pretty girls" and trying use fanciful "pick up lines" in order to get the next pretty girl walking through the door to drape her arms around me. It is senseless, shallow and foolish. As much demented and emotionally inept as well as socially messed up as I am. I think that is the epitome of shallowness. Plying a girl with drinks that she get drunk and one can head "back home to bed her" is just another shankar aiyar clown saga in the making.
And yes, all the "staring incidents" and fighting and gangsterism as well as drug trafficking takes place in all the seedy nightspots. The crowds making an excellent cover for drug transactions. If I ever sign on to the police force as a Superintendent of Police and beyond. I will so make sure I'll bust all these clubs every single night and weed out all the drug traffickers, addicts, gangsters that I can find. Perhaps I won't join police coast guard elite coastal patrol squadron. But instead The Anti-Vice Branch of the Criminal Investigation Department. Haha! I'll bust all the night shift criminals and flood Changi Prison! And we can have a safer country for the betterment of all citizens.
Ah how patriotic I sound. But really, I don't like drug traffickers and gangsters. They are a thorn in the flesh of our society.
