Firstly and foremost, I won't let anyone scold my mei so harshly. So I write this to defend her. =) It's the least any kor can do for their meis.
in defense of mei
A few entries ago, my mei wrote a in a blog entry about "to see 'someone' anymore anyways". In it, a http hyperlink to an email address was used to render the world "someone" as an active mailto-type link. This link apparently gave the email address to a person who is now in raffles junior college.
This was allegedly, an identification factor to the "whole rj community" about this particular person's identity is.
My defense.
It doesn't matter. Mei can write in ANYWAY she like and about ANYTHING she likes. In the light of keeping entries as honest and clear cut to whosoever reads them, such readers should practise their own self-restraint when it comes to issues that are not very nice to deal with.
Should anyone desire to scold that particular person, or voluntarily cause hurt of any sort or take any form of hostile action towards him. I have only one thing to say. That the person who does such thing is highly immature and being terribly childish.
The internet is a free world. It was invented to circumvent global censorship or any sort. Even today, government have difficulty restricting access to highly objectionable content with the advent of free, uncensored feeding proxy servers that pre-fetch any websites content and transmit them to the surfer from an unblocked portal.
Information is a free for all. Hence or otherwise, all readers should practise personal self censorship and to divide the the line of context very clearly from the virutal world as well as the physical world. Such sensitive issues where emotions run high should only be kept in the mind and not acted upon in vehement violence or anger or revenge. It is only meant to be informative.
Blogs are personal web spaces where diary entries, personal thoughts and opinions are expressed. By expressively reading a person's blog, one should treat it in the same fashion as reading a person's diary by lavishing respect for the opinions and comments expressed. One should only read blogs with an open and mature mind, lest some unfortunate event happens as a by-product of the dissemination of such information and knowledge.
My mei can write anything she wants to write on her blog. All her thoughts and opinions are expressively represented as hers. Readers should note about drawing a clear dividing line on whether to take action or not.
I will not stand around and act as though nothing has happened. If you want to scold my mei. Please rebuke her in a more gentle kind fashion. She is more than mature enough to understand different perspectives to many issues. It is not necessary to shout, use crude or vulgar language and a running high of emotions to justify your own perspective and view of the issue at hand.
A warning EVERYONE who dares to mess with her. I will destroy you if deemed necessary
