Listening to Michael W. Smith - Here I am to Worship
Can't seem to find the inspiration to write what's on my mind. Rather tired on a Sunday after having served God in church. Ministry work is always tiring, very tiring today. But at the end of it all, I always feel this deep sense of happiness and fulfilment. Perhaps even accomplishment of having served God in whatever way I could.
I love my ministry. Though it isn't the biggest or most important ministry in church and just takes care of "background issues". But I'm very happy that I am actually in a ministry that I really enjoy. Wonder why so many people are in ministries that they don't enjoy in church. I've got like the nicest ministry heads in the whole church, who are really understanding and mature men of God that never fail to amaze me in the manner of their character when dealing with adversity.
3 services in church today. Evangelistic concerts to reach out to non-believers. 2 services is already tiring. Today's 3 was even more draining. But thank God for giving me the strength to last all 3 services. At the end of the day, we got free ice-cream as well as a free T-shirt. Both unexpected bonuses from the church for serving so hard. I'm just happy to give my time and energy for God, everything else is secondary.
Bumped into another ACJC person in church today. I think many people know him - Elvis (The Hong Kong Scholar). Haven't caught up with him in a long time, but it sure was great seeing another ACSian in church. Interestingly, I saw one of my old badminton seniors from secondary school at church. I guess that this country is so small that no matter where I go, I always see or bump in ACS people.
I notice a steady, perhaps even massive proliferation of "chatline adverts" showing the faces of a couple of pretty girls above a 1900 number. No doubt the girls in the advertisement are all prett models. Today, interestingly, in the course of my ministry duties, I happened to recognise one of the girls in those chatline advertisements. She is so damn pretty I tell you. Though I try to avoid issues on looks and girls and being judgemental at times, honestly, that girl is like wow.
I have no patience to shop. The cellgroup girls took me shopping yesterday in a bid "to teach me how to shop" and "for me to learn how to shop". I can safely say that they're efforts were disastrous. Normally, I'm quite patient. Come shopping, guess not. I don't find inspecting or going through all the wares in a shop slowly interesting. I find it dull, boring, dry and a complete waste of time. Yes, I know all the the girls I know will disagree with me. But I know that chunks of the guys that I know will agree with me. The debate is open. The battle rages on.
