Skipped cellgroup meeting again today. That's three times in a row. I think I might have to make it five times in a row since next week I've eco-challenge and the week after is my de-kit day.

Used the time meant for cellgroup to go to Punggol Seafood centre off east coast for dinner with Uncle Luck. He's really happy that finally he gets to eat some crabs and prawns. He gripes about the fact that although seafood is fresh and plentiful in NZ, there is no supply of crabs.

Dinner was great I would say. Dad ordered so much that we had problems trying to finish the last dish. It is on family dinners like this that I end up over eating because Dad usually orders more than enough. I stuff myself so full I can even bend down without a sharp pain in my stomach! =)

Met up with Shing Lee later on at about 10. He commented how much weight I had put on and I laughed at the amount of weight he had lost in BMT. Shing Lee is one of my very good buddies, having met him way back in secondary 2, when we were practising taekwondo together.

Ironically, during that time, the peak of the acs barker and acsi rivalry - both of us actually became very good friends. We spend quite alot of time catching up on each other and other people's lives and laughed at how screwed up both of us were. I'm from ACPS to ACSB to ACJC, he's from ACJS to Inde to ACJC. Our school's only crossed paths at the last part of our education, yet both of us call each other a true blue pure ACSian (note: its ACSian and NOT ACSIan, in favor of separating the acs identity from being a subsidary of ACS Independent).

He brought me to this pub just at the end of Holland Village's Lorong Mambong - Wala Wala Cafe and Pub and was raving about this "The Unexpected Band" performing live. The band was really good. We stayed in the pub from about 10 plus all the way till 1.30 in the morning.

I was too cheapskate to buy one too many drinks, so I settled for half a pint of Hoegaarden "Forbidden Fruit". Prices are higher than at other pubs, but was more worth it as the atmosphere and the live band gave the place a very informal, laid back and relaxed atmosphere.

Notwithstanding, both of us were just wearing bermudas, sandals and t shirts - it was almost like a beach pub, except for the aircon and the thick cloud of cigarette smoke in the pub. I guess its a reality in every single pub or club that there will be thick noxiously thick cloud of death hanging above you wherever you may go.

I don't smoke and I don't plan to take up smoking for the rest of my life and besides, my Dad strongly disapproves of this. Too bad, I ended up smoking so passively it could have counted for a pack of cigarettes over those 3 odd hours. We left the place with our shirt reeking of cigarette smoke.

Shing drank like 43 bucks of alcohol. The "forbidden fruit" is really nice. Its just regular beer with double the alcohol of normal beers. Shing told me that it actually like relaxes you and gives you this feeling of high and happiness. I can't blame him. I drink for the high and he drinks to drown his sorrows about NS.

He was very happy after several drinks that he ended up finishing it up with a screwdriver. We just talked about everything under the sun from NS and how come half of ACJC was in OCS and why he wasn't to debating fiercely on why I should stay loyal to this country.

I can't really put the intense hour over long debate we had down here. But emotions ran pretty high. Of course, both of us are such good friends that we won't let such petty things spoil a frienship. Besides, I've kicked him and he's kicked me so many times during TKD training for the "fun of it" in venting our frustration and anger at each other. This was more like a verbal sparring match for us.

In the end, I lost the debate and the final conlusion was that I should stay loyal to my country and not be quitter - even though lots of people are termed "quitters" by the government. He told me flatly that he doesn't want bombs raining over our head, our land being invaded by another country and our women being raped by foreign soldiers.

True Loyalty? Or Propaganda? You decide. There are always two different faces to the coin.

We went for supper at Crystal Jade later on. It's a good thing the restaurant opens till 3a.m in the morning. Even when we went at about 1.40 in the morning, it was still quite crowded both downstairs and up. Both of us settled for some light congee and I went back home.

I long day indeed. Have to be in church by 11.30 to have catch up cellgroup sermons taught to me my merf. Have to start bible study classes. Have to pay tithe and offering and have to settle much stuff.

I'm going to be seriously broke this month. Seriously.
