Church
Woke up at like 10.10. I slept about 7 hours I think but was super dead tired. Somehow, I only knew that unless the "bus and the mrt liked me today" I would not reach church at 11.30 for bible study.
The MRT really loved me. It came just as I stepped onto the platform. The bus too. It came just after I walked into the "queuing bars" at Boon Lay interchange. Best of all - it was the first double decker 242 bus I have seen. SBS finally realising about the "increased demand" on weekends after about 1 and 1/2 years.
I didn't enjoy praise and worship today. They sang a record of 3 new songs and all of them had very uneven beats and rhythms. Had difficulty trying to clap along to the songs even. So today, I'd say that worship is the worst I've experienced the whole year. =(
Well, today was "debt-cancellation weekend". Church still has almost 900 000 left to pay for the building. Pastor preached on an old sermon and encouraged us to give sacrificially to the final building fund. Service was backed up by two testimonials and how a 2 1/2 year old kid decides to give his entire life savings of 328 dollars to the buidling fund.
It really puts us to shame. I'm older and I can't even make 300 dollars - the recommended amount.
For this month, I collected my pay yesterday. Today I have spent almost all of my money:
Pay 320 (The bastards at NS pay us bloody peanuts!)
Mum -100
Tithe -35
Offering -15
Building Fund -50
Transport -40
Cellgroup Fund -8
Lunch -7
Pubbing -15
Supper -6
Remainder: 44
I have to pay 20 bucks for the squad T shirt and the rafting materials and I have to go for a class gathering on the 26th plus pubbing on that day.
I can jolly well EAT GRASS.
I don't spend my money. It gets EATEN UP. Nowonder they say that Singapore has the highest rate of indirect tax in the world. I'm like spending at the most 22 dollars on myself and the rest is just eaten up by the country.
Too bad, I'm just a slave of the nation doing ns, working like a dog and expected to behave and act like one getting only enough to fund the bare necessities and leaving me hungry. Wonder how people survived on 240 a month.
The only bonus was that Dad said that I need not pay him the 150 I owe him for my email services. But soon I'll have to pay for my SCV and my handphone - 76 and 60.
And I can't get a job during my NS. We've been warned already. I bet that there are a bunch of ISD people watching all the police national servicemen for breach of such rules and just waiting to charge us in court.
Ho Poh Fun
The thing has really blown over. Well, I feel that the teacher deserves it anyway. She's just purposefully trying to show off her eloquence and M.A by verbally bruising a China Scholar whose standard of english is understandably low. Do a search of Ho Poh Fun on Google or Yahoo and you'll find out much unsavoury stuff associated with her other than with her academic/book related cirriculum vitae.
I don't think its a breach of privacy. Its the same if I use a video camera and go filming the inside of a shopping center. Legally speaking, from my "miseducation" at the Police Academy. Making a recording in class is the same as making a recording in a shopping center as these are considered "private places". Meaning is that at such places, access can be restricted by the owner/principle/person in charge.
Besides, if the teacher is not afraid to scold a student so harshy in class, why not just just do it in front of the whole damn singapore and internet community? Its the same! Scoldiing the student in class is like having an "imaginary singapore" being present in the form of the video recorder.
Winston Hodge is neither here nor there. Just trying to be the play-it-safe WWI combat fighter. He'll be the first to be shot down by the school's management. God Speed to him.
I think this is a good way to exemplify the true nature of our education system. It looks good on the outside and on paper, but in reality, it kinda sucks. The few top students we produce out of our education system every year often overshadows the fact that about 30 000 odd of the rest of the cohort just "couldn't make it" in the eyes of the MOE.
I think I shall not do too much commentary on my blog. Instead, I shall set up two separate blogs. One, it for commentary on local general and international issues and the other will be my simple online diary. My life is boring, quite simplistic indeed. I'm happy just being with with my thoughts. Yeah, I do feel lonely once in a while, but its ok.
Talking to people is just like sharing the thoughts I have with them. But communicating is not easy. Sharing of thoughts and ideas is simple. But transmitting feelings is not.
Rambling Thoughts of the Demented will be my online diary/blog/spiritual life and Reflecting Thoughts of the Demented will be my online commentary on issues pertaining to the general interest of society. Heh, its a great way to put the A1 in GP to good use! After all, a Demented Guy can sometimes make sense...

I think I'll get a new layout soon, put a wishlist up, a tagboard, a "comments" link at the end of every entry, and a profiles page for the people whom I'm usually in contact with. Too bad though, the ratio of guys to girl is like 10:1. Shing Lee often gripes about that "ratio" too, as with MOST of the NS guys I know.
Except Thomas the pro, his ratio of guys to girl is like 2:7 or something like that.
"Come from where one?!!!", T Square would quote whenever we saw "The Pro" talking to a "New Girl" that has somehow decided to chat him up. And all the girls that chat him up are SO PRETTY! Sometimes I can't help the green eyes.
The class will know. The 2 days before Fun-O-Rama would exemplify this. To those who don't, READ: The ChinaDoll. Do your own research and you'll understand why... =)
Klipsch and WinFast
I really wanna get a set of 2.1 Klipsch speakers! I know the 5.1 is really good, but I don't need it for now. But I'll also need a Creative Audigy 2 Platinum EX Sound Card with Advanced EAX Support that will turn me into a true audiophile. I need about 900 bucks....
A WinFast 350 would be nice! Basically its just an Nvidia GeForce FX 5900 with 256 MB of Dual Channel DDR II Ram that has been tweaked, overclocked and has extensive cooling systems installed on board. I need 1300 bucks...
My graphics will fly off the screen with that graphics card, coupled with an Intel Pentium IV 3.2 GHZ process with HyperThreading Technology with a bus running at 800 mhz.
