Not Fast Enough

My weekends are seriously overcrowded, and my weekdays are seriously free. The sacrifice that comes with shift work is that when the whole world's out partying and enjoying themselves, I'm drifting somewhere far out at sea, on the constant lookout for intruders.

Sundays can be especially tiring, I have to wake up early in the morning and make my way to church to serve the Lord by helping out here and there where required, and once a month, leave church a little bit earlier, forsaking all the enjoyment of "fellowship" to rush down to the base to prepare for night shift duty.

One thing I realise about sunday night shift duties at the base is that, for everytime I perform it just that once in a month, there will be a really beautiful sunset for everyone starting up the boat's engines to enjoy the sight of. As I have missed many good photographic opportunities in the last week, I'm glad that I am able to capture the sunset in all its wonderful glory. I never get sick of photographing sunsets, while I don't know why exactly, maybe its just because that each and everyone is different in its own unique way.

Guess that I was not fast enough, a little late. prior to taking out my camera and taking a photo of the sunset, the entire sky was in a shade of bright orange and dark red. But such lighting only lasts about 2 or 3 minutes. Thus I ended up missing out having half the frame composed with a gentle glow of orange all around. One other reason why I like this shot is because in the darkened foreground is Nicoll Highway, a rather good juxtaposition.
