day of up and many downs
So I was actually walking into Kallang today! Not sure if berms and sandals were allowed, so I just wore my half u with some other civilian shirt.
The only up today was the fact that I got my rank insignia! No longer am I a condemed "trainee" or "constable" but rather, a fella with two pathetic stripes on my shoulders. It's like the lowest striped rank, but at least it distinguishes you from being a total loser in the base.
Other than that, the bad news is that LLW and I are now in separate teams. I will NEVER see him again after tomorrow morning. Our schedules will be total opposites of a reversed polarity! When I'm free he's not and When I'm on sea he's on land - that kind of thing. So it's quite sad that we won't be able to go to church together/bible study or at least catch up on each other. It feels like I just lost a great friend. =(
I was wondering why, after being in the same companies TWICE, same ROOM, he's sleeps on the upper deck of my double decker bed in Tracom and goes to church with me for the same service and we had one combined cellgroup together and our cellgroup leaders are like best friends, we are now separated! Sigh! So sad!
At first they said we could be in the same team, but turns out they kicked up some bullshit about racial quota and education levels and rank and so they had to split us. Funny! I thought we were a MERITOCRATIC society? Haha.... now I have tangible proof that RACE DOES MATTER in our supposedly "RACE-BLIND" country. Sad to say the very organisation that should keep all races and religions united is actually discriminating people on Basis of RACE! Very sad to say. Wonder what Commisionner Khoo Boon Hui would say if he actually read this here. Who know, I bet the ISD reads all the blogs of every singaporean in this country.
Our idealism doesn't exist. Sad to say it only exists on paper and not in real life. Singapore may not discriminate persons at birth. But it does eventually later in life. Very sad indeed.
Everyone else got their arm card except for me. IT HAD TO BE ME! I bet the fucking staff assistant to the manpower officer has marked me just becuase I'm a freaking chinese with an A level cert! Too bad, he thinks I'm so dumb I can't see through his stupid vague reasons and whimsical emotions. I'll go bang him someday if this gets too much. Yeah! Just use the PEN! I can really write well in terms of this country's standard of written English. Police Force is scared of people who can use a pen mightier than a sword.
Too bad, he had to have slip of his tongue mentioning "Racial Quota". That's enough evidence to kill him in a court of law.
Yeah, if they discriminate too much. I'll just have to write a formal letter of complaint. See what happens then and there. =)
Later on, I realised that the rank allowance for the last three months due us will not be paid to us. CHEATERS! And we won't get our sea allowance till september at the EARLIEST! POLICE FORCE CHEATS NSMEN OF THEIR MONEY!
Worst. Tomorrow we have to do SENTRY DUTY. Looks like I'm going to end up being a permanent sentry for the bloody base. Sigh. No allowance, no money, shit job and no respect. With all the senior officers out there just waiting to fuck you. They just love to screw the sentries. Sigh. =(
