Email regarding Esther Tan

Ok thanks to GRACE, who kindly forwarded the emails to me, its a good thing that people like Grace exist, they fill up our mailboxes with all kinds of interesting stuff. And since they know which email address works and which doesn't, and the fact that they have a huge mailing list make these people the "useful spammers" that can transmit info of such nature very quickly. They are like information hubs that hold up communication.

"Hey fellow Acsians!

I've forwarded this message. It is by Esther's cousin,
Sarah, an undergraduate from NUS.

Please take time to read this...:

Esther Tan from ACJC, is in very critical condition
due to a viral infection of the liver. She is in
urgent need of A+ blood. If you belong to the A+ blood
group and are willing to make a blood donation, please
call the NUH Blood Bank at 67725356 and make an
appointment. My cousin's full name is Esther Tan and
her IC number is S8513492B. You will have to go down
to the Blood Bank for 2 appointments: the first being
the blood test and the second, the actual blood
donation. The opening hours for the Blood Bank are
from 8am to 4.30pm. However, for the second
appoinment, you must go latest by 3pm since it will
take about an hour to draw the blood.

HOWEVER, it is preferred that you actually contact Mrs
Rosalind Tan, first as she is actually coordinating
the blood donation effort. She can be contacted at
90065113. However, of course if time does not permit,
you can make your own appointment with the Blood Bank.

To be able to make a blood donation, you must satisfy
the following criteria: You MUST have A+ blood
type.Your weight should be at least 52 kg and your age
should range from above 18 to 55 years. You also
should not be taking any medication.

So just to reiterate everything I've written above:
Name: Esther Tan
IC no: S8513492B
NUH Blood Bank
Contact no: 67725356
Opening hours: 8am to 4.30pm
Ms Rosalind Tan
Contact no: 90065113
NUH
Contact no: 67795555

Thanks for your patience in reading this mail. Please
forward this mail to your friends and family as this
is very urgent. And please do go down to the Blood
Bank to make a donation if you are able to.(By the
way, as the Blood Bank is not actually located within
NUH, you need not fear catching any virus!) God Bless You!"

Ok, is it Leukaemia? Epstein-Barr Virus or a Viral Infection of the liver? I think tha the EBV infects the liver, shuts down the toxin destroying system of the liver, creates massive chemical imbalances in the body which lead to the build up of dangerous amounts of toxins in the bloodstream. These toxins work through the circulatory system, damaging all organs in the body, except the brain. This in turn causes multiple organ failure. Without treatment, the rate of such organ failure accelerates. And since EBV is known to cause cancer. Yep, cancer of the blood - leukaemia.

I think that's how everything is fitting into place.

Ivan is a freaking genius! Like I said, he really deserves to be called among the top 20 smartest persons of age 19 years in this country. On par with Winston Chin, Ng Boon Leong and Joseph Tan. All of whom are going to Cambridge, MIT and Harvard respectively.
