Have some problems with the admissions at Washington University. I've sent them my "Final Secondary School Transcript" three times and they have rejected it on all three ocassion. I think I have to go back to school to get a certified true copy first and then forward it to them.
Other than that, they still think I am going to enter the university this year when I have written to them to defer it till NEXT YEAR. I can't even disrupt from National Service this year as I have yet to serve the compuslory 2 year minimum term of engagement before being qualified to disrupt. If this screws up I might lose my place there.
The last week has seen meetings with some very good friends - Aunty Ros, Matt, Geoffrey, T-Squared and today, my whole class. I realise that immediately after my accident. The few people that I called while on the way to the hospital are the people who really mean a lot to me. Even if I am such an apathetic person when it comes to friendships, I now realise that at least with some relationships that I have in my life, I have to hold on to them really tightly, as I only realise their great worth to me now.
I think I have such a wonderful class in ACJC. Probably the best in the whole combination. Even today, we still met up at Siewkz place for a barbeque. The means of communication is still intact. Its like even though the guys are in army and the girls in university, we make it a point to keep in touch with each other as well as update everyone on our status in life. How wonderful indeed.
My cousin always told me that he never regretted knowing his ACJC class very well. Even today, many years after he has graduated, he still meets up with them and his class makes it a point to welcome back those who are studying abroad everytime they return to Singapore. Tonights gathering was planned in LYNNIE's honour, but of course, naturally, she is almost always too busy to make it. Yet, it was wonderful, great period of catching up with each other on our lives in NS as well as university.
Strange enough, even though I seldom talk to the class girls. I really feel for them. As uncaring and unthoughtful a person like me, everytime I see them at a class gathering. I just feel like hugging them. They are SO NICE! And my class guys are so united. I guess that's one thing - the Spirit Never Dies. It really unites ACSians together. My class just rocks the set!
I've always been thinking of my few dream cars that I want to own at this age. Currently, I have narrowed it down to the BMW M3, the Mercedes-Benz AMG E-55 and the Mercedes Benz AMG S-65. Jaimes, after having passed his driving license, drove me, L-Squared and T-Squared home today in his Dad BMW 5-Series.
Shadiq always told me that although Mercedes is seen as a status icon in Singapore, the BMW is much better suited for Singaopore roads in the sense that the Mercedes is built for crusing and the BMW for sheer acceleration. I have no doubt how powerful a BMW accelerates now. I didn't feel so much inertia-like push in Geofrey's Dad's 7-Series, but Jaime's Dad's 5-Series is really powerful!
Thus I have concluded! I want a 330,000 dollar BMW M3!!!!!! ARGH!
And guess what. Brother has not ONE, but TWO sitting in his driveway. Both cars bought for him by his Dad when he has not even obtained a driver's license! I am so jealous! I want! I want! Yet I know I have to be extremely careful when driving in Singapore roads. Taxi Drivers plus the fact that we're perpetually jammed on the roads and the ever-increasing number of cars make for a higher likelihood of an accident waiting to happen. Safety is number 1 as much as I enjoy crusing around in a BMW M3.
It's better. I can go to the rotten base myself as well as drive myself to church and to other functions without bothering my Dad no more once I obtain my driver's licence. And after 20 years of them driving me around. I can finally drive THEM around. I know Dad so longs to take a seat in the backseat. He's been in the driver's seat for too long and its about time I took over.
Until then. I won't actually ask God for a car, nor will I beg God for one or request for one or pray for one. I'll just be happy with whatever He gives me. As much as I want a BMW, its not really a necessity since I'll be leaving for the States to study in 2 years time (if everything goes right, that is!) and it'll just be a waste of money on my Dad's part. Whatever it is, I'll buy one for myself when I'm a student over there. And I'll buy it with my own money.
