Its in thai, but a picture speaks a thousand words in all languages. So here goes:

All the photos with the exact same camera and lens that I currently use. Indeed, it is not the camera, but the person behind the lens, that really matters. Oh well, better equipment does make life easier for a photographer in any case.

Just notice that some of the pictures captured at full wide angle have a slightly noticeably barrel distortion. I'm thinking of investing some good money into two sets of lens. Since I've decided that sports photography really isn't my cup of tea, I'll be happy to do all the kinds of shooting scenarios that one will encounter whilst travelling around the world.

I so wish that I could travel around the world. Probably one of my greatest dreams. Although the streets of New York, London, Tokyo and perhaps most of the developed cities of the world have their city-life and historical charm, I too desire a time that I can explore wide open spaces in all the undeveloped countries around us.

Just a glance at the chart and it already seems that our neighbouring countries are flooded with great scenes to shoot. The road less travelled sure does have its unique perks. Now all I really need to do is to master how to meter manually, without any light meters. I guess it will be mostly trial and error, yet such a skill will be very useful if I am stuck to using a pure mechanical camera (Nikon F2, Leica M6).

All I need now is some time, some planning and definitely some good photographic equipment. Not in the sense that it is great for the bragging rights, but rather, for the sturdiness, reliability and durablity that I expect out of my equipment when I'm on the road. Slowly I do see my original interest in photography, being kindled over such a long period of time, become a full blown passion.

I won't need a meter long telephoto zoom that most of the sport shooters have, yet I'll definitely need lenses that are built like a tank - literally. A 28-70mm f-2.8 lens would be very nice indeed, as would a simple 12-24mm f-4 DX lens for the wide angle shots.

And yes. I've calculated that if I save about 500 dollars a month from my pathetic NS allowance for the next one year, I might be able to just afford the Nikon SLR Hammer of the 21st Century, although by then I might be able to get a Nikon equivalent of Canon's incredibly crazy/expensive EOS 1D Mark II. Even though technically, right now, Canon gets the bragging rights to having the fastest shooting highest resolution DSLR in the world - I've practically grown up shooting on Nikons.

Some habits seems to be just passed from one generation to another. And how would my good friend Nico feel if I were to "switch over to Canon" suddenly when we've been sharing lenses with each other for so long? Whatever it is, just keep an eye out for the Nikon D200 and the Nikon D2X. They will be "Canon-Executioners". It is after all, widely known that Nikon releases some of its very best cameras just before the Olympic games. And theres a big worldwide photographic convention in June. Hmmmm.... Maybe I bought my camera a little too early.

Whatever it is, all I want and I really must do tomorrow is to get some excellent shots of the rugby match at the Police Academy. I've taken leave, out of what precious little I have, to go for probably the hottest match of the year. God help me get some shots that will floor the photographic society.
