Wonder

I really wonder if I can keep up this tirade of writing only happy and selectively glad entries. It is rather difficult given my normally practical and unflinchingly formalised and laymen attempt(s) of retro active and introspective intellectual thought. Time is really flying, can't believe that when you think about it. Its been five years since I walked into the most nonsense college in the country. Five years. Half a decade. Time speeds up as you get older. I believe not too long from now, a thirty year old loan will feel like nothing. By then we'll all be rather older, perhaps wiser as well.
Which makes me think. We take 20 or 25 or so odd years to really grow up. Growing up is a rather painstakingly slow process at times. Yet relative to the speed which time passes by from the perspective of our parents/relatives and other adults. Is it any wonder of any sort that they often remark in surprise that we've grown up so quickly and "so big so fast?". Perhaps indeed, the speed of light is the only universal constant as given by Einstein's theories of special relativity. Everything else is pretty much relative. Classical Chinese Philosophy and Ancient Greek Philosophy have their similiarities as well as differences - notably in applications in due discourse of the facts of time. Ethics and Morality are seemingly more and more liquid and stratified into easily separable layers. Bending and yielding and "changing with the times". I can get rather difficult to accept that many of the so called trends in ethical and moral and "religious" views and values half a century ago are very different from the way things are right now.
They say that within a due course of time. Societies normally progress and what is useful is kept, whilst other things that are deemed unncessary are often streamlined ou and cut off into the void from tradition. Then again. Its complex, given that certain tenets of morality are usually non-negotiable, at least to me. The theories lies that things change and supposedly evolve and change and blend in and "keep up with the times". Humanity, especially in a developed world context tends to slant towards the grey areas of compromise in a bid to continually affirm, upkeep and enhance our material and personal comforts of life. Although for those highly concerned about the plight of other people in particular Third World nations might usually just be dismissed as idealists who have never gone beyond the edge of their backyard. Grande Complications indeed. Perhaps with a limitation of our understandings and select wisdom, where things are simple and true and clear and easy to understand. Perhaps it explains why children are often befuddled by the complexities inherent into the life of adults. Then again, are complexities necessary in any case. Perhaps at times, it is better to filter out the unncessary, yet seemingly absolutely-necessary-to-know facets of uncontributing knowledge.
In the past, it used to be humanity keeping up with the status quo. Today, the status quo changes and shifts wheresoever we desire it to be. For the sake of liberty and manner of freedom amongst other unrestricted personal, civil and spiritual liberties. Add the complexities of the notions of diversity, equality and more politics and everything looks to be terribly difficult and abstract to understand. Its like each of us has a fragment of the picture. Some understand understand where their fragments stand in the greater and bigger picture. Others do not. Even more so, other deny what they have, choosing instead to espouse certain alternative tenets of interpretation and understanding for a greater signal to ratio politically correct basis. Its like competing upon uneven ground in many aspects. We risk genocide when morality becomes subjective, when it becomes liquified. Flowing and agreeing and taking the forms of the whims and fancies of the containers that so desire to define them in particular aspects. When what is known to be Right indeed, in every aspect of its Truth component. Now when alternative idealogies come forth and claim that the middle ground really isn't where it should be. The characterstic comparision will derive an instictive manner of dislike, anger and perhaps hidden hatred. All of which usually turns into resentment and bitterness. I know it is difficult to understand. Yet sometimes, difficult and abstract sentences are required to express difficult and rather abstract notions, ideals and ideas. Such is the complications of this great wonder of civilisation! A very difficult and complex world, too many colors for the eyes to see, too much to read to ever gain a proper in depth grasp of the topics at hand, too many sounds to hear that they drown out each other or else are sealed up to silence by other means.
The Glories of great civilisations of the past were indeed long lived in their times. Though today they remains no more than quick passing references of deference or mockery. Such is it indeed. Their stones have been cast to the ground, their glories are no more. Their compiled histories particularly subjective. Yet things change. Many things change. Change is the only constant. But one thing doesn't change. That is what Truth is. Because if it changes, then it is no longer Truth. Because when it becomes distorted, it is no longer Truth. It becomes Lie. Thus, we be content to lie and wallow upon in our own short lived glories of alternative crowns and sit upon temporal thrones, never fully realising where the real Crown is and where the real Throne can be...
