A Quick Post and a Goodbye

This will be my fastest blog post yet. I won't be blogging for another 10 days or so. Expect my next post to be on the 4th of October as I am currently doing something quite important. In fact, I'd say its one of the most important experiences of my life.

Anyway, just before I leave. I'm quite happy to say, and rather personally proud of it to have been one of the official photographers for the official launch of TOAD! It was the gala premiere of this local film (at Orchard Cineleisure) made by a few Singaporeans that exposes on morality as well as truthful thoughtfulness. The mayor of the South East constiuency came to grace the event.

Truly an opportunity to practise my skills, as well as to learn more and to improve. By the looks of it, I have a long way to go. I'm just taking photographs. Not creating beautiful memories yet of events that I can cover. Yet at the same time, I'm thankful to God for this wonderful opportunity to use whatever skills I have. I don't believe its a talent yet. But whatever it is, ultimately it goes back to the Father.

The Mayor, Matthias Yao, giving his speech.

My attempts at coverage. Not very good indeed. Long way to go.

The film stars one of our local actresses - Kids Central Host Kim Wakerman. You can visit her blog here. Extremely courteous, very natural at posing and a wonderfully photogenic girl to take pictures of.

And I got to touch a legendary camera. The EOS 1D Mark II. It was being carried by one professional photographer who freelances for quite a number of local magazines. The thing is VERY SCARY. The autofocus is indeed 2 times faster than the already legendary EOS 1D. Fantastic solid piece of a camera. Yet I have to admit, the whole thing just yells "steal me....". I shoot one pathetic picture. The thing brackets 9 in one second. So you'll never actually take a bad photograph - just lots of underexposed or overexposed ones.

Will be back soon! Thanks for reading!
